The Influence of Job Stress and Work Engagement on Employee Performance with Affective Commitment as A Moderating Variable in Class II-A Correctional Institution Binjai
Abstract
This study aims to investigate the influence of job stress and work engagement on employee performance at Class II A Correctional Institution in Binjai, with affective commitment as a mediation variable. Data were collected from 102 respondents in the institution. The pre-survey results indicated high levels of job stress, low work engagement, low employee performance, and inadequate affective commitment. Data analysis showed that partially, job stress has a positive but not significant influence on affective commitment, while the influence of job stress on employee performance is positive and significant. Additionally, affective commitment does not have a significant influence on employee performance. Work engagement, partially, has a positive but not significant influence on affective commitment, and also not significant on employee performance. However, work engagement has a positive and significant influence on employee satisfaction through affective commitment.
