Efektivitas Bakteri Pseudomonas sp. sebagai Pereduksi Logam Berat Timbal (Pb) di Perairan Laut Belawan
Effectiveness of Pseudomonas sp. As a Reducer in Reducing the Heavy Metal Lead (Pb) in the Waters of the Belawan Sea
Abstract
Research on the Effectiveness of Pseudomonas sp. As a reducer in reducing the
heavy metal lead (Pb) in the waters of the Belawan Sea, the aim of this research is
to determine the effectiveness of the bacteria Pseudomonas sp. To reduce levels of
the heavy metal Lead (Pb) in Belawan sea water, incubation experiments were
carried out by adding suspensions of each bacteria with concentrations of 20 ml,
25 ml, 30 ml and incubating using an orbital shaker at room temperature for 1 day,
2 days, and 3 days. Analysis of Pb metal ion content and bacterial growth was
carried out on days 1, 2 and 3 respectively using the Automic Absorption
Spectrophotometer (AAS) and the Total Plate Count (TPC) method respectively.
This research was carried out from October 2023 to January 2024. The results
showed that the percentage reduction in Pb metal ion levels in samples of
Pseudomonas sp bacteria. which showed the highest reduction in the heavy metal
Pb, namely 88.18%, with the bacterial inoculum Pseudomonas sp. 30 ml and
incubation for 3 days and the lowest reduction in the heavy metal Pb was 28.78%
with the bacterial inoculum Pseudomonas sp. 20 ml and incubation for 1 day. The
ability of Gram negative bacteria is effective in reducing levels of the heavy metal
Pb
