    Abstract
Background: Protecting the skin from direct exposure to sunlight is the most important part in the context of preventing and reducing the risk of skin cancer. Using protective clothing and applying sunscreen containing broad-spectrum SPF, including avoiding sunlight especially during peak UV times, about 10:00 - 14:00 WIB. Soursop seeds (Annona muricata L.) 3% are rich of polyphenols and flavonoids which are non-enzymatic antioxidants that have the potential to provide protection against ultraviolet (UV). Objective: To determine the potential of soursop seed extract nanoemulgel (Annona muricata L.) 3% as photoprotection against ultraviolet (UV). Methods: This pre-experimental clinical trial study was conducted with a pretest posttest design on 35 female street sweepers. The diagnosis was established through anamnesis and clinical examination. Evaluation of photoprotection indicators using a skin analyzer before and after administration of soursop seed extract nanoemulgel (Annona muricata L.) 3% was carried out at weeks 0, 4, 8 and 12. Evaluation of clinical improvement, if any side effects appeared were recorded during the study period, and the level of satisfaction was assessed at the end of the study period. Repeated Anova and Friedman tests were continued with posthoc tests to see the differences before and after treatment with p value <0.05 as considered significant. Results: There was a significant difference in the mean value of the photoprotection indicator based on the results of the examination using a skin analyzer before and after administration of soursop seed extract nanoemulgel (Annona muricata L.) 3% in the image of UV pigmentation, UV damage, and UV moisture (p <0.05) while the images of spots, wrinkles, and roughness did not show significant differences. Conclusion: The potential of soursop seed extract nanoemulgel (Annona muricata L.) 3% as a photoprotection against UV is proven to be able to protect the skin because it contains SPF, without side effects and has a good level of satisfaction.
