Peran Efektivitas Penyuluh Pertanian Dalam Meningkatkan Kualitas Petani di Kecamatan Siabu, Kabupaten Mandailing Natal Provinsi Sumatera Utara

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role and effectiveness of agricultural extension workers in improving the quality of farmers in Siabu District, Mandailing Natal Regency, North Sumatra Province. Agricultural extension workers play an important role in the transfer of agricultural knowledge and technology, which aims to improve the skills, productivity, and welfare of farmers. This research uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach, involving interviews with farmers and local agricultural extension workers. The research results show that agricultural extension workers play a significant role in providing training, technical assistance, and agricultural innovations that are relevant to the needs of farmers in the area. Although there are some obstacles, such as a lack of facilities and resources, the effectiveness of extension services has proven to enhance farmers' knowledge, adopt more modern agricultural practices, and produce better quality and quantity. Thus, agricultural extension workers have a significant contribution in encouraging the improvement of farmers' quality in Siabu District. The improvement of facilities and government support for extension programs is an important factor for the sustainability and enhancement of agricultural quality in the region.
