    Abstract
Globally in 2019, as many as 2.9 million deaths were caused by work, of which 2.58 million deaths were due to occupational diseases and 0.32 million deaths were caused by work accidents. In Indonesia, 265,334 work accidents were recorded in 2022. In Medan, BPJS Employment Medan City Branch reported 2,570 cases among registered workers. The aim of this research is to analyze work accidents that occur among workers participating in BPJS Employment Medan City Branch in 2022. This research uses quantitative descriptive methods to describe work accidents experienced by workers participating in BPJS Employment Medan City Branch in 2022. The results of this research are that work accidents are dominated by male workers (73.7%) with an age range of 21-30 years. (38.6%), the dominant location of work accidents is in traffic (42%) with the dominant time of accident occurring on Wednesday (17.3%), the cause is dominated by workers who experience impaired attention and concentration (32.6%) where imperfect safety conditions (52.6%) are also the cause so that workers experience work accidents in the form of collisions (38.6%) originating from machines (24.8%) and resulting in death (74%). The researcher suggest that BPJS Employment Medan City Branch should continue to carry out intensive coordination with various companies or industries in its work area in efforts to prevent work accidents, although BPJS Employment does not play a direct role in preventing work accidents, in this case BPJS Employment can provide benefits in reducing negative impacts of work accidents
