Pengaruh Self-Compassion terhadap Loneliness pada Remaja Korban Bullying

Abstract

Bullying can cause serious psychological impacts, such as the emergence of psychological disorders, one of which is the feeling of loneliness in victims, and this shows that bullying behavior is something that needs to be considered. Self-compassion can help reduce negative impacts by understanding and accepting the suffering experienced. This study aims to determine the effect of self-compassion on loneliness in adolescent victims of bullying. This study uses quantitative research methods with sampling techniques, namely convenience sampling. The sample in this study amounted to 398 adolescent victims of bullying spread across Indonesia. Data were collected using a Likert scale through measuring instruments The University of California, Los Angeles Loneliness Scale Version 3 (UCLA LS), Self-compassion Scale (SCS), and The Revised Olweus Bully/Victim Questionnaire (OBVQ). The data analysis method uses simple linear regression with the results showing that self-compassion has a significant negative effect on loneliness in adolescent victims of bullying with a contribution of 8.8% (R square = 0.088) while the remaining 91.2% is influenced by other factors. The implication is that the results of this study provide information about the effect of self-compassion on loneliness in adolescent victims of bullying as well as data on the level of bullying, loneliness, and self-compassion in adolescents in Indonesia, which can be utilized by schools, parents, and policy makers to understand the current conditions.
