dc.description.abstract | This research determined the relationship between spirituality levels and four aspects of life: physical health, psychological condition, social relationships, and environment. Quality of life is an individual's personal view of how they are faring in life, influenced by culture, values, goals, expectations, standards, and concerns within the context of their living environment. Spirituality is a belief in a higher power and creator. The sample for this study consists of 96 patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, all married, and aged 19 and older. The study uses Likert scales for data collection, employing the WHOQOL-BREF by the World Health Organization (WHO), which includes 26 items, and the Daily Spiritual Experience Scale (DSES) by Underwood & Teresi (2002), which includes 16 items. This is a quantitative study using Spearman‟s Rank Correlation test. The results indicate a positive relationship between spirituality and quality of life in the domain of physical health for diabetes patients (correlation coefficient of 0.175), no relationship between spirituality and quality of life in the psychological domain (correlation coefficient of -0.012), no relationship between spirituality and quality of life in the social relationships domain (correlation coefficient of 0.083), and a positive relationship between spirituality and quality of life in the environment domain (correlation coefficient of 0.292). | en_US |
