Peran Kepercayaan Diri terhadap Kematangan Karier Siswa Kelas XI SMAN 1 Pangururan

Abstract

Career maturity is the readiness of individuals to seek information about career descriptions, determine career decisions and the ability to complete career development tasks according to their age. In shaping career maturity in students, self-confidence is needed. Self-confidence is an attitude or belief in one's own abilities so that they feel free to do or determine something according to their wishes and take responsibility for it. This study aims to examine whether there is a role of self-confidence on career maturity in Class XI students of SMAN 1 Pangururan. The subjects in this study were Class XI students of SMAN 1 Pangururan as many as 234 students. The approach used in this research is quantitative approach. The measuring instrument used in this study is a self-confidence scale prepared based on Lauster's theory (1992) and a career maturity scale prepared based on Super's theory (in Kidd, 2006). The data obtained were processed with simple linear regression analysis techniques with a p value of 0.001 or <0.05 and a correlation value (R) = 0.513 and (R2) = 0.263, which means that the hypothesis in this study is accepted, namely there is a positive role of self-confidence of 26.3% on the career maturity of Class XI Students of SMAN 1 Pangururan.
