Peran Perspektif Masa Depan terhadap Kematangan Karier pada Siswa SMA Kelas XI di Kota Medan

Abstract

Career maturity is an individual's readiness to make career decisions that are appropriate for their age. Career maturity has an important role in the success of individuals in determining career paths. In the future. Career maturity is related to future perspective, namely the extent to which a person thinks about and places importance on the future. Future perspective as a component of career maturity plays an important role in career decision making, and is negatively associated with career indecision. The purpose of this study is to examine whether there is a positive role of future perspective on career maturity in grade XI high school students in Medan City. The subjects in this study were high school students in grade XI in Medan City totaling 349 students. The measuring instrument used in this study is a future perspective scale prepared based on Husman & Shell's (2008) theory and a career maturity scale prepared based on Savickas' theory. The data obtained were processed with simple linear regression analysis techniques with a p value of <0.001 or <0.05 and a correlation value (R) = 0.436 and (R2) = 0.190, meaning that the hypothesis in this study is accepted, namely that there is a positive role of future perspective by 19% on career maturity in class XI high school students in Medan City.
