dc.description.abstractGrit has many influences on teaching, which shows its vitality for Indonesian teachers and is believed to have a positive impact on a teacher. One personality trait that is a predictor of grit is conscientiousness. Conscientiousness is closely related to grit and also does not have too much difference. This study is a correlational quantitative study that aims to see the role of conscientiousness personality type on the grit of a primary education teacher in Medan City. The sample in this study amounted to 191 participants. The analysis in this study used simple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of statistical analysis of data, obtained sig value. < .001. The correlation (R) between the two variables is high, which is 0.612. The R² value of 0.375 indicates that conscientiousness accounts for 37.5% of the variance in grit. Thus, this study shows there is a positive role of conscientiousness personality type on the grit of primary education teachers in Medan City. These findings support the theoretical basis as well as previous research which states that there is a positive role between conscientiousness and grit.en_US
