    Abstract
Introduction : Sepsis is defined as life-threatening organ dysfunction caused by dysregulation of the body's response to infection. Sepsis can cause multiple organ dysfunction including kidney dysfunction leading to sepsis-related acute kidney injury (S-AKI). Recent studies have found that neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) can be a biomarker that is responsive to tissue stress and injury to the nephron, so that acute kidney damage is recognized more quickly. This biomarker also functions as a monitor of development and recovery, and predicts the final outcome. Method: This study is a prospective observational study to see the relationship between NGAL levels as a predictor of AKI incidence in sepsis patients in the ICU. The research sample was taken according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria with a sample size of 40. Results:NGAL levels > 150 ng/ml with the occurrence of sepsis AKI were found in 32 (94.1%) samples and sepsis without AKI in 2 (5.9%) samples, while NGAL levels <150 ng/ml with the occurrence of sepsis with AKI were 1 sample (16.7%) with sepsis without AKI in 5 (83.3%) so that it was found that NGAL had a relationship with the occurrence of sepsis with AKI with a value (p<0.001) and a specificity value (96%), Specificity (71%) had PPV (93%), NPV (94%) and AUC 86%. Conclusion: There is a relationship between NGAL and the incidence of AKI and has a specificity (97%), Specificity (71%) has PPV (94%), NPV (83%) and AUC 86%.
