    Abstract
    Mangrove litter contributes organic matter to the mangrove ecosystem through decomposition. Litter decomposition creates a nutrient cycle in the ecosystem. Fungi as decomposers play a role in accelerating the rate of decomposition. This study was conducted to determine the rate of decomposition of A. marina litter, identify the species of fungi found in A. marina leaf litter that underwent decomposition, and to determine the levels of carbohydrates and proteins in A. marina leaf litter during the decomposition process. The average rate of litter decomposition was obtained using the Olson Formula (1963): ln (Xt/X0) = -kt, analysis of carbohydrate and protein content using the SNI 01-2891-1992 method. The results showed that there were 5 species of fungi found in the decomposition process of A. marina leaf litter, namely Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus fumigatus, Aspergillus clatavus, Aspergillus oryzae, and Rhizopus stolonifier. The average value of fungal diversity in the decomposition of A. marina leaf litter was included in the medium category, namely 1.52. The decomposition rate value obtained from A. marina leaf litter is 10.81/year. Measurement of carbohydrate and protein content in A. marina leaf litter showed a decrease in carbohydrate and protein along with the increase in litter decomposition time.
