Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Minat Wanita Usia Subur dalam Melakukan Pemeriksaan IVA di Desa Sialang Muda Kecamatan Hamparan Perak

Abstract

Cervical cancer is the fourth most common disease affecting women and the most prevalent disease among women in Indonesia. Despite the availability of IVA screening, which is the simplest early detection method for cervical cancer with a sensitivity of 56-94%, the interest among women of reproductive age in undergoing the IVA screening is low. This research aims to examine the factors affecting the interest of women of reproductive age in undergoing IVA screening in Desa Sialang Muda, Hamparan Perak Subdistrict. This correlational descriptive research uses a quantitative approach, involving 89 women of reproductive age selected through accidental sampling. The research instruments consist of questionnaires of knowledge, attitude, and husband support. Data is processed using a chi-square test, which yields a p-value of 0.003, attitude p-value=0.504, and husband support p-value=0.000. The findings indicate that there is a correlation between knowledge and husband support with the interest in undergoing IVA screening. However, no correlation is found between attitude and interest in undergoing IVA screening. Logistic regression analysis demonstrates that husband support is the most significant factor, with a p-value=0.000 and an Exp(B) of 0.049. Therefore, it is recommended to educate husbands about IVA screening to enhance their support for their wives, who are women of reproductive age, to undergo the IVA screening.
