    Abstract
This thesis is entitled "Speech Acts in the Film Nariti Romansa Danau Toba by Deden Bagaskara: Pragmatic Study". The purpose of this study is to describe the forms of locutionary, illocutionary, perlocutionary speech acts and describe the function of speech acts in the film Nariti Romansa Danau Toba by Deden Bagaskara. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative research method. The theory used in this study is the pragmatic theory proposed by Searle. In the film Nariti Romansa Danau Toba by Deden Bagaskara, the film tells the story of a girl named Nariti and comes from the coast of Lake Toba. At first there were two men competing to win Nariti’s heart, but Nariti fell in love with a young man named Jefry. However, their relationship was not approved by one of the parents from both parties, because the girl’s parents did not like the background of the young man’s parents and not only that, Jefry and Nariti have a blood relationship or they are siblings. The results of this research show that there are twenty-four (24) forms of locutionary speech acts, fifteen (15) forms of illocutionary speech acts, thirteen (13) forms of perlocutionary speech acts and there is a function of speech acts, namely the act function. eighteen (18) texts of assertive speech acts, seventeen (17) functions of directive speech acts, six (6) texts of expressive speech acts, five (5) texts of commissive speech acts, and three (3) texts of declarative speech acts.
