Pengaruh Kecerdasan Emosional terhadap Civic Virtue pada Pegawai Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Karo

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence of emotional intelligence on civic virtue in employees of the Karo Regency Education Office. In this study, the number of subjects was 70 people selected using the census technique. The method in this research is quantitative research method. Data collection uses a Likert scale consisting of a civic virtue scale and an emotional intelligence scale. The data obtained were analyzed using simple linear regression. Based on the results of the research conducted, it was found that emotional intelligence has a positive effect on civic virtue in employees of the Karo Regency Education Office (Sig = 0.000 <0.05, t = 5.514> 1.995). The results of this study indicate that emotional intelligence has a positive effect on civic virtue in employees of the Karo Regency Education Office by 30.9% and the remaining 69.1% is influenced by other variables. This shows that emotional intelligence increases civic virtue in employees of the Karo Regency Education Office. The implication of this research is to provide information to the Karo Regency Education Office in order to maintain emotional intelligence and civic virtue in employees of the Karo Regency Education Office.
