Abstract
One of the tasks of adolescent career development is to mature their career
choices. Grade XI high school students should be able to choose and finalize their
careers. Doubt in making a decision is one of the causes of low self-efficacy. The
purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of self-efficacy training
to improve the career maturity of high school students. This type of research is
quasi experiment with one group pre-test post-test design. The research subjects
amounted to 20 students consisting of 10 women and 10 men. The measuring
instrument used in this study is an adapted career maturity scale. This instrument
refers to Savickas (2013) career maturity theory which includes three dimensions,
namely: control, concern, curiosity, and confidence. The method of data analysis
using Wilcoxon Signed Rank obtained a value of p = 0.083 > 0.05 which means
that the hypothesis of this study is rejected, namely self efficacy training is not
effective for increasing the career maturity of Nurul Hasanah Tembung High
School students.
