The Role of Peer Groups in Individuals Who Have Experienced Dating Violence
Abstract
This research aims to identify and analyze the role of peer groups in supporting the recovery of individuals who have experienced dating violence. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection in this research used the interview method with a sampling technique in the form of snowball sampling with a sample size of 3 people. The results showed that peer groups play an important role in recovery, providing emotional, informational, instrumental, and beneficial support. Close friends (chums) provide deep emotional support, while small groups (cliques) offer more targeted and collective support, helping victims overcome trauma and improving psychological well-being. Peer groups also play a role in helping victims rebuild self-confidence and develop effective coping strategies.
