    Abstract
    Internet addiction refers to the excessive use of the internet by individuals and cannot be separated from the use of the internet in daily life. This study aims to look at the tendency of internet addiction and the negative impacts experienced by students of SMK Broadcasting Bina Creative Medan. There are 145 students who are the subjects of this study. The research subjects were selected using the purposive sampling technique. This internet addiction research uses two measuring tools, the first is the Internet Addiction Test (IAT) scale, and the second is self-report the impact of internet addiction which consists of six negative impacts including nomophobia, fear of missing out (FoMO), social interaction disorders, phubbing, procrastination and health disorders. The results of the study showed that there were 20% (29) students experiencing mild internet addiction, 71% (103) students experiencing moderate internet addiction, and 9% (13) students experiencing severe internet addiction. The negative impact of internet addiction that tends to appear in the category of mild internet addiction is procrastination with a percentage of 66% (19 students). The negative impact of internet addiction that tends to appear in the category of moderate internet addiction is disorder of social interaction and procrastination with a percentage of 53% (55 students), The negative impact of internet addiction that tends to appear in the category of severe internet addiction is nomophobia and phubbing with a percentage of 61% (8 students).
