Hubungan Kepribadian Dark Triad dengan Perilaku Agresi pada Anak Binaan di LPKA Kelas 1 Medan

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between dark triad personality traits (Machiavellianism, Narcissism, and Psychopathy) and aggressive behavior in juvenile detainees at LPKA Kelas 1 Medan. The research employs a quantitative method with a population of 220 juvenile detainees. The sample consists of 160 juveniles, selected using sensus study. Data collection was conducted using the Short Dark Triad (SD3) Scale, developed by Jones and Paulhus in 2014, with reliability scores of 0.77, 0.71, and 0.80 for the dimensions of narcissism, machiavellianism, and psychopathy respectively. The validity scores for these dimensions are 0.42, 0.34, and 0.57 respectively. Additionally, the Reactive-Proactive Aggression Questionnaire (RPQ) was used to measure aggression, constructed by the researcher. The results indicate a significant relationship between the dimensions of machiavellianism and psychopathy with aggressive behavior in juvenile detainees, with pearson correlation coefficients (r) of 0.487 and 0.900, respectively. There is no significant relationship between the dimension of narcissism and aggressive behavior, with a Pearson correlation coefficient (r) of -0.005. Data analysis was assisted by the JASP application. These findings are expected to contribute to the development of effective intervention programs to reduce aggressive behavior at LPKA Kelas 1 Medan and provide scientific contributions in the field of psychology, particularly concerning dark Triad personality traits and aggressive behavior..
