dc.description.abstract | Isolation and identification of flavonoid compound groups from the bark of
rain tree (samanea saman (jacq.) Merr) had been carried out through the stages of
maceration extraction using methanol solvent. Extraction was carried out again with
ethyl acetate, partitioned with n-hexane and obtained concentrated methanol extract.
The concentrated methanol extract was then analyzed by TLC, then separated by
silica gel column chromatography as the stationary phase and a mixture of
chloroform: ethyl acetate 90:10; 80:20: 70:30; 60:40; 50:50; 40:60; 30:70; 20:80;
10:90 (v/v) as the mobile phase. The pure compound obtained was in the form of a
yellow amorphous solid as much as 5,7 mg with an Rf value = 0.58 using
chloroform: ethyl acetate 40:60 (v/v) eluent. Based on the analysis of UV Vis
spectrophotometer with acetone solvent, it shows two absorption peaks with
wavelengths (λmax) of 312 nm and 263 nm. The FT-IR spectrum shows the presence of
O-H, C-H sp3, C=O ketone, C=C aromatic, C-H sp3, C-O-C, C-H sp2 groups, which
are respectively at wave numbers 3446.79; 2922.16; 1726.29; 1600.92; 1382.96;
1274.95; 788.89 cm-1. Proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy (1H-NMR)
shows the presence of protons H-5, H-6, H-2’, H-3’,H-5’, H-6’, and OCH3 protons.
Based on the analysis data, the isolated compound is suspected to be a flavonoid
compound of the flavonol group. | en_US |
