    Abstract
This research discusses the revival of the Binjai Railway Station in 1984, its development from 1984 to 2018, and the preservation and development efforts undertaken in 2018. The research aims to explain the factors influencing the revival of the Binjai Railway Station, analyze its development during that period, and describe the preservation measures implemented by PT. KAI. This study employs historical research methods, including heuristic, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography stages. The findings reveal that the revival of the Binjai Railway Station in 1984 was influenced by internal factors, such as PT. KAI's strategy to improve transportation infrastructure, and external factors, including increased mobility between Binjai and Medan. The station's development between 1984 and 2018 involved the modernization of facilities, enhancement of passenger services, and preservation of the building’s rich architectural heritage. In 2018, preservation and development efforts focused on maintaining the station’s role as an efficient transportation hub while preserving the authenticity of its historical architecture. The study concludes that Binjai Railway Station not only managed to sustain its operations but also evolved into a vital part of North Sumatra's transportation network. However, ensuring its sustainability requires greater attention from PT. KAI and support from the North Sumatra Provincial Government and Binjai City Government to improve the station's supporting facilities and infrastructure.
