Patient Choices in Determining the Type Of Treatment: Sibaso Traditional Treatment and Modern Treatment Doctor For Conful Diseases and Brone Fractures in Three Panah District
Abstract
Sibaso traditional medicine is an integral part of the Karo cultural heritage, and has been a center of attention in community health care passed down from generation to generation. Modern medicine in Indonesia has experienced rapid development along with advances in science and technology. Convulsions and bone fractures are a serious concern in the health sector, because they can have a significant impact on a person's quality of life. The method used in this research is a quantitative approach. As many as 60 people suffered from convulsions and broken bones. Data was obtained by distributing questionnaires whose validity and reality were tested using convenience sampling techniques. The results of this research analysis use primary data testing. The data analysis techniques used are descriptive statistical analysis, classical assumption tests, reliability tests, data validity tests, and partial, simultaneous and determined hypothesis testing. The analytical method used in this research is multiple linear analysis with the help of SPSS 25.
The results of the research showed that based on the type of treatment, the people of Tiga Panah District experienced more convulsions than broken bones and preferred sibaso treatment in curing convulsions; the duration of sibaso treatment takes more than 1 year; Respondents believed that both types of treatment, both traditional Sibaso medicine and modern medicine, could treat convulsions and broken bones; the patient's choice of type of treatment is more influenced by family or friends; the people of Tiga Panah District have used both types of treatment but very rarely visit health services or modern doctors; the description of the Sibaso treatment variable indicator with the highest average answer is that the respondent feels happy because the Sibaso treatment is effective in treating the disease, while the description of the modern treatment variable: respondents feel more confident with the recommendations and explanations given by doctors than traditional practitioners and respondents will recommend treatment modern doctor to others.
