    Abstract
Dissolved oxygen (DO) is a crucial parameter in aquaculture, directly influencing the growth and survival of freshwater fish. Fluctuations in DO levels, caused by factors such as undecomposed fish waste, low light intensity, and rainfall, can lead to mass mortality. This study aims to develop an accurate and efficient automated DO control system to maintain water quality in freshwater aquaculture. The DO sensor in this study employed an automatic lift and dip mechanism, integrated with the Blynk platform for remote monitoring. The system is designed to activate the aerator pump when DO levels fall below 5 ppm and deactivate it when DO levels exceed 10 ppm. Results showed that the employed method can extend the lifespan and protect the DO sensor from mineral particle contamination on the membrane, achieving a 98.88% accuracy in real-time measurements. This accuracy was obtained by comparing the DO sensor results with those of a DO meter 8402AZ. Measurements were taken over 15 days, six times a day at 06:00, 09:00, 12:00, 15:00, 18:00, and 21:00 Western Indonesia Time. The measurements revealed the lowest DO levels during the morning and evening. Therefore, this system can improve the efficiency of aquaculture management and minimize the risk of losses due to poor water quality.
