Jenis dan Keanekaragaman Aves di Kampus Universitas Sumatera Utara, Kota Medan, Sumatera Utara

Abstract

University of North Sumatera as a strategic place to investigate the biodiversity of flora and fauna as a source if germplasm of life in the world of education. The University of North Sumatera as a green campus is considered multifunctional in determinating, protecting and disseminating information about biodiversity includig bird diversity in supporting sustainable development with an enviromental perspective. In the volcanic area basically has a function as an urban area, diversity and preservation of animal species and of course microorganisms is the main goal of management. This study aims to analyze the index of diversity and evenness of species and find out the types of aves found on the campus of the University of North Sumatera.The method used in this study is direct observation by applying the line transect method combined with the point count method. The results of research on the campus of the University of North Sumatera for 4 weeks found as many as 36 species consisting of 22 bird families. The Aves Diversity Index value on the North Sumatera University campus was 3,117 and the Aves Evenness Index value on the North Sumatera University campus was 0,870 and the most families were obtained from the columbidae and cistocolidae families of 3,8%.
