dc.description.abstractThis research aims to determine whether the panel zone effect has an influence when using the Indonesian earthquake zone based on SNI 1726:2019 in the seismic design category D in the city of Medan using a special moment resisting frame system (SRPMK) and priority earthquake risk factor 4 with conditions. soft ground. In this research, a comparison will be made of 7-story and 10-story steel structure buildings using zone panels and without zone panels so that the results of zone panels can be found for earthquakes in Indonesia. The results of the structural check show that the 7 and 10 storey building structures using zone panels and without zone panels meet earthquake resistance reliability with SNI 1726:2019 regulations and fulfill the Strong Column-Weak Beam (SC-WB) SNI 7860:2020 concept for buildings without using zone panels. more rigid than using zone panels. The results of the comparative analysis of the roof displacement of a 7-story building using zone panels are 9.23% greater in the X direction 10.63% and Y direction 9.25% compared to a 10-story building without zone panels. Comparison results of the story drift ratio for a 7-story building using a panel zone that is 9.21% larger in the X direction and 11.55% in the Y direction compared to a 7-story building without a zone panel, for a 10-story building using a larger panel zone in the and Y direction 9.25% compared to a 10-story building without zone panels. These results show that the use of zone panels in a steel structure will make a rigid structure become semi-rigid.en_US
