Analysis of the Influence of Financial Culture and Financial Inclusion on the Financial Performance of MSMEs in the Trade Sector in Langsa Baro District
Abstract
Financial performance is a measure used to assess the effectiveness of financial resource management in achieving business objectives. MSMEs play a crucial role in the local economy but often experience a decline in financial performance, particularly in the trade sector. The main causes are the lack of a strong financial culture and suboptimal guidance on accessing financial services. This study analyzes the influence of Financial Culture and Financial Inclusion on the Financial Performance of MSMEs in the trade sector in Langsa Baro District. This quantitative research utilizes both primary and secondary data, with the population consisting of MSMEs registered with the Department of Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and MSMEs of Langsa City. A sample of 244 businesses was selected using stratified sampling, and multiple linear regression analysis was conducted using SPSS. The results indicate that at a 5% significance level (α), financial culture and financial inclusion have a positive and significant impact on the financial performance of MSMEs. These findings highlight the importance of MSME actors regularly recording their finances, utilizing digital technology such as mobile banking, building community networks, and implementing financial Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance financial performance. Government and related institutions' support is needed in the form of financial management training, the provision of free accounting applications, business consulting assistance, and easily understandable financial service guidelines to strengthen financial culture, accelerate financial inclusion, and support the competitiveness of MSMEs in the trade sector.
