    Abstract
Freezer is one of the household refrigeration systems which is useful for storing food such as meat and fish. The way to extend the storage time of fish is to keep it in the freezer or refrigerator, which can inhibit the growth of bacteria, and fish can be preserved for a long time. R-134a refrigerant is currently known as a synthetic refrigerant and is the most commonly used type of refrigerant in freezers. Research shows that R-134a refrigerant may contribute to global warming. The purpose of this research is to analyze the performance of the freezer, namely the heat absorbed by the evaporator, the mass flow rate of the refrigerant, the compressor work, the heat released by the condenser and the coefficient of performance (COP). Then analyze the comparison of freezing performance with R134a and R-600a refrigerants. Several variables are used in this study. The independent variables include R-134a and R-600a refrigerants. For the dependent variables, namely, low pressure and high pressure, evaporator temperature and condenser temperature. And for the control variables, namely, fish temperature at - 5 °C and compressor speed interval of 1000, 1200, 1500 and 2000 rpm. The results of vapor compression cycle analysis calculation on freezer performance obtained with R-134a and R-600a refrigerants, heat absorbed by evaporator, refrigerant mass flow rate, compression work, heat released by condenser are higher for R134a than R-600a. An increase was found up to 1500 rpm and the results of SKU analysis calculation for COP for R-600a were higher than R-134a
