    Abstract
Background: Premature skin aging is characterized by premature deterioration of skin quality, including loss of moisture, smoothness, appearance of blemishes and large pores. Sunflower seed oil (Helianthus annuus L.), containing linoleic acid and vitamin E as antioxidants, protects the skin from the effects of free radicals which are the main extrinsic factors causing premature aging. Peel-off masks excel in ease of use and effectiveness in removing dead skin cells and cleansing pores as well as good penetration of active substances, so they can be effective supporting preparations in anti-aging treatments. Objective: To formulate a peel-off mask containing sunflower seed oil, evaluate the preparation, and test its effectiveness as anti-aging. Methods: The experimental research method involved the formulation of peel-off masks with sunflower seed oil concentrations of 0% (F0), 2% (F1), 4% (F2), and 6% (F3). Evaluation of the preparation included organoleptical test, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, drying time, and stability for 12 weeks of storage. A nti-aging skin effectiveness test was conducted on 15 volunteers for 28 days by measuring moisture level, skin smoothness, pore size, and number of blemishes using a skin analyzer. Results: The results showed that the sunflower seed oil peel-off mask formulations with 2%, 4%, and 6% sunflower seed oil concentrations were homogeneous, had pH 5.7-6.1, viscosity 19,000-22,500 cP, drying time 20-25 minutes, non-irritating and stable during 12 weeks of storage. The effectiveness test showed the highest increase in skin moisture in F3 (33.3%), the highest increase in skin smoothness in F3 (26.5%), the largest decrease in pore size in F3 (18.8%), and the largest decrease in the number of blemishes in F3 (27.0%). Conclusion: Sunflower seed oil can be formulated in a peel-off mask preparation that is efficacious as anti-aging skin for 4 weeks. Sunflower seed oil peel-off mask with 6% concentration (F3) has the best anti-aging effectiveness in increasing moisture, smoothness, and reducing pore size and blemishes on facial skin.
