    Abstract
    Small freezers are very important in keeping food fresh, especially for small fishermen and remote areas that do not have access to stable electricity. This research analyzes the performance of the compressor on a freezer driven by an 8 hp Otto engine with variations in pulley diameter to determine the optimal efficiency of the cooling system. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of compressor rotation on the coefficient of performance (COP) of the freezer, to obtain effective compressor power for the resulting cooling, and to determine the time and working pressure achieved by the compressor to cool the product load due to variations in pulley diameter. The variations in pulley diameter used are 100 mm, 120 mm, and 140 mm with engine speeds of 1000 rpm, 1200 rpm, 1500 rpm and 2000 rpm. The parameters measured include compressor working pressure, cooling temperature, cooling time using a 1 kg puffer fish load. The research results show that variations in pulley diameter have an effect on freezer performance. A larger pulley diameter increases compressor rotation, thus speeding up the cooling process, but also increases energy consumption. By using R-134a refrigerant, this research found that the optimal combination of compressor rotation and pulley diameter can influence the efficiency of the cooling system.
