dc.description.abstractFire is something that cannot be avoided and it is estimated that the time and place of occurrence in human life, including the residences of residents. Fire can cause loss of both property and life. Fire disasters can be caused by various factors. Among them is the lack of awareness and public readiness for danger and overcoming fire as well as the lack of available fire protection system facilities and infrastructure. To overcome fire, there are two types of protection systems, namely active fire protection systems and passive fire systems. In this research, a passive fire protection system is used which is more prioritized to overcome fires. This research takes a location in a densely populated residential area of Nelayan Indah. This location has the potential for a fire due to the condition of many buildings that use flammable materials, the distance of adjacent buildings and strong wind conditions because it is located in the coastal area, Medan Labuhan. The research method used is AHP. Based on the research results, the Nelayan Indah area has a low reliability of the fire protection system due to many factors that are not in accordance with the regulations related to the fire protection system. So that the right recommendations are given to be applied to the Nelayan Indah area such as improving fire facilities and infrastructure, improving discipline and public knowledge related to fire as well as better utilization of facilities that are already available.en_US
