Perancangan Convention Hotel di Kota Medan dengan Pendekatan Arsitektur Modern

Abstract

Medan is a city with a significant increase in globalization and has become a center of economic growth in the North Sumatra region and Sumatra Island. This increase has brought the city of Medan to growth in various sectors of society, including from the business, economic and tourism sectors which have created many needs for business and business actors, as well as certain groups to be able to expand business ideas and increase the exchange of information and ideas, especially media needs, space, and meeting facilities. For this reason, it is necessary to fulfill the need for meeting rooms that cover broad aspects through meeting the needs of the MICE industry (meeting, incentive, convention, exhibition) which can support maximum improvement and economic and business potential can be well facilitated. The Convention Hotel building is one of the options that will provide meeting facilities that are able to accommodate the MICE industry and industry and business players to be able to exchange ideas and information through meetings, incentives, meetings, exhibitions, conferences and conventions. The design approach will later use the Modern Architecture approach which will emphasize and pay attention to the fulfillment of the function of space in the building, so that space requirements can be met. However, still with the aesthetic value of the building through the shape and facade design, as well as other designs. With the existence of the Convention Hotel building in the city of Medan, it is hoped that it can help accommodate the increase in these economic aspects.
