Background: Information Technology (IT) plays an important role in increasing
the effectiveness of claims services at the BPJS Employment Medan City Branch
office. The implementation of the e-Claim system information technology is very
helpful in improving service quality and increasing satisfaction of BPJS
Employment participants.
Objective: This research aims to determine the role of information technology in
improving the effectiveness of claims services at the Medan City branch of the
BPJS Employment office.
Method: The subjects of this research were employees and staff of the service
division and participants. Data collection instruments in this research used
questionnaires, observation and documentation from the Head of the Service
Division.
Results: The research results show that information technology has an influence on
the effectiveness of services at the BPJS Employment office because the e-Claim
system has helped to increase ease and security in services, as well as increasing
speed and efficiency in the claims process. Thus, information technology has played
an important role in increasing the effectiveness of claims services at the BPJS
Employment office
Conclusion: The influence of Information Technology on the BPJS Employment
Office is good so that it can support increasing the effectiveness of services to
employees/staff. By implementing an e-Claim system which is very helpful and
makes it easier for participants to submit claims and increases participant
satisfaction by making it easy to access the e-Claim system anywhere and more
efficiently.
