    Abstract
There is a lack of information on land suitability for grape, apple, strawberry and dragon fruit crops in Lintong Nihuta District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency. This study aims to determine the actual and potential land suitability classes of apple, grape, strawberry and dragon fruit land. This research was conducted in Lintong Nihuta District of Humbang Hasundutan Regency from August to September 2024. The research method used was survey method. Sixteen (16) Land Map Units (SPL) were obtained and matched with the criteria for land suitability classes for crops by the Technical Guidelines for Land Evaluation for Agricultural Commodities based on Djaenudin in 2011. Translated with DeepL.com (free version)The results of this study show that the actual suitability class for apple, grape, strawberry crops at SPL 1 (Histosol) is classified as unsuitable with the limiting factors of oxygen availability, peat thickness and flood hazard. At SPL 14, 15 and 16 (Inceptisol) are classified as unsuitable for the limiting factor of erosion hazard and at SPL 2, 3, 4, 9, 11, 12 and 13 (Inceptisol) are classified as unsuitable for the limiting factor of rooting media. In apple and grape crops SPL 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10 (Inceptisol) are classified as marginally suitable with the limiting factor of nutrient retention. The results of the actual land suitability class for dragon fruit plants show that SPL 1 (Histosol) is classified as unsuitable with limiting factors of temperature, oxygen availability, peat thickness and flood hazard. At SPL 3, 4, 11 and 12 are classified as unsuitable with the limiting factor of rooting media and 2, 9, 10 and 13 are classified as unsuitable with the limiting factors of temperature and rooting media. SPL 7 and 8 are marginally suitable with temperature and nutrient retention as limiting factors and SPL 14, 15 and 16 are unsuitable with temperature and erosion hazard as limiting factors. Assuming improvement efforts are made at several SPLs, the potential land suitability class is still classified as unsuitable with the limiting factor of rooting media.
