Pemanfaatan WebGIS Sebagai Sarana Promosi Ekowisata Mangrove di Desa Lubuk Kasih Kecamatan Brandan Barat Kabupaten Langkat

Abstract

The Lubuk Kasih Village Mangrove Ecotourism is a mangrove ecotourism site located on the coastal area of Lubuk Kasih Village, West Brandan District, Langkat Regency. This ecotourism is managed with the aim of preserving the mangrove forest, but it is not yet known to the public. Therefore, the purpose of the research is to apply a Geographic Information System (GIS) based on the web, called WebGIS, which is expected to serve as a promotional and development medium for ecotourism and its management, as well as to analyze its usefulness. The research method starts with collecting spatial data from the tourist attractions and aerial photos of the ecotourism area using an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). The processing of aerial photos produces an orthomosaic that will serve as the basemap on the WebGIS page. The researchers obtained a ground sampling distance (GSD) of 24 cm/pixel from processing 544 aerial photos. The result of this research is a website with the domain https://wsiatamangovelubukkasih.cloud/, which features menus such as ecotourism attractions, facilities, accessibility, ecotourism map, about, and contact. The usability test of this WebGIS yielded a total score percentage of 87.7%, indicating that the test results meet the eligibility criteria and fall into the category of highly feasible as a promotional tool for ecotourism..
