    Abstract
Background: As part of healthcare efforts, pharmaceutical practice has an important role in the supply, management, and providing information related to drugs to ensure their safe and effective use. Pharmacy as one of the pharmaceutical service facilities is managed by a pharmacist and assisted by Pharmaceutical Technical Assistants. As part of their duties, pharmacists in pharmacies are responsible for the management of pharmaceutical supplies and clinical pharmacy services in pharmacies based on applicable standards. In addition to pharmaceutical services, a pharmacist must also have good managerial and business skills. In an effort to improve the professional competence of pharmacists, the Pharmacist Professional Education Study Program at the University of North Sumatra (USU) collaborates with Kimia Farma Pharmacy to organize Pharmacist Professional Work Practices. This program aims to provide practical experience to prospective pharmacists in carrying out pharmaceutical services in pharmacies, thus increasing their readiness to carry out their profession professionally. Objective: To improve prospective pharmacists' understanding of the roles, functions, and responsibilities of pharmacists in pharmacies and to equip prospective pharmacists with the insight, knowledge, skills, and practical experience to perform pharmaceutical services in pharmacies.
