dc.description.abstractSweet potato has a high carbohydrate content and a high level of anthocyanins. The high anthocyanin content in purple sweet potatoes has physiological functions that combat cancer. Several types of industrial waste can be utilized as organic fertilizer for plants. This research aims to determine the growth response and production of sweet potatoes using organic fertilizers such as palm empty fruit bunch ash and decanter solid. The study was conducted at the Center for Root Crop Studies, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Medan, North Sumatra, from August 2024 to December 2024. This study used Randomized Block Design (RBD) with two factors: the first factor is palm empty fruit bunch ash with four levels: 0, 1, 2, 3 tons/ha. The second factor is decanter solid with four levels: 0, 10, 20, 30 tons/ha. The results showed that palm empty fruit bunch ash and decanter solid had a significant effect on plant height and fresh weight of the plant tops. The interaction between both had a significant effect on plant height and fresh weight of the plants. However, palm empty fruit bunch ash, decanter solid, and their interactions had no significant effect on tuber diameter per plot, tuber weight per plot, tuber length per sample, number of tubers per sample, tuber weight per sample, and harvest index.en_US
