    Political Participation of the Muslim Community in Lagundri Village, Luahagundre Maniamölö District in the 2024 South Nias Regency Legislative Election

    Abstract
    This study examines the political participation of the Muslim community in Lagundri Village, Luahagundre Maniamölö District during the 2024 General Election. Although the Muslim community in Lagundri Village constitutes a minority religious group in the area, approximately 10.07% of the population, their political participation rate in the 2024 General Election was notably high. The objectives of this study are to identify the most prevalent forms of political participation and the factors influencing their political involvement. The theoretical framework employed includes the theory of forms of political participation by Mas'oed and Mac Andrews, and the theory of factors influencing political participation by Ramlan Surbakti. The research methodology used is descriptive quantitative, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 80 respondents. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to illustrate the research findings. The results indicate that the most common form of political participation among the Muslim community in Lagundri Village is Electoral Activity, with an average percentage of 73%. This includes activities such as voting, volunteering in campaign events, monitoring vote counts, and encouraging others to support specific candidates. Meanwhile, other forms of participation, such as Lobbying (12%), Organizational Activity (22%), Contacting (12%), and Violence (5%), showed lower participation rates. The most dominant factor influencing the political participation of the Muslim community in Lagundri Village is Political Awareness, with an average percentage of 92%, followed by Trust in Government (36%), Economic Factors (22%), and Social Factors (7%). In conclusion, the Muslim community in Lagundri Village is more actively engaged in electoral political participation, with political awareness serving as the primary driver for their involvement in the 2024 General Election.
