    Abstract
Academic burnout is a condition of physical, mental, and emotional exhaustion experienced by students due to prolonged academic pressure. This condition can reduce learning motivation, academic performance, and students’ psychological wellbeing. One of the factors suspected to influence academic burnout is social support and a growth mindset. Adequate social support can help students feel valued and supported in coping with academic demands, while a growth mindset enables students to view challenges as opportunities for development. This study aims to analyze the influence of social support and a growth mindset on academic burnout among students at SMA Negeri 11 Medan. This study employs a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The sample consists of 400 students selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected using the School Burnout Inventory (SBI), the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS), and the Growth Mindset Scale. Data analysis was conducted using multiple regression to examine the relationship between independent and dependent variables. The results indicate that social support has a significant negative influence on academic burnout (p < 0.05), meaning that the higher the social support received by students, the lower their level of academic burnout. However, a growth mindset does not have a significant influence on academic burnout (p > 0.05), suggesting that a growth-oriented mindset does not contribute to reducing academic burnout. Furthermore, multiple regression analysis shows that the combined influence of social support and a growth mindset does not significantly affect academic burnout among students at SMA Negeri 11 Medan. This study concludes that only social support plays a role in reducing academic burnout among students, whereas a growth mindset does not contribute to its reduction. Therefore, schools and social environments should focus more on enhancing social support for students to help them cope with academic pressure.
