    Abstract
    Shallot (Allium ascalonicum L.) is one of the horticultural commodities with high economic value and is needed by the community as food ingredients. Increasing P uptake and shallot growth and production can be done by applying manure and mycorrhiza. This study aims to determine the best type of manure and mycorrhizal dosage to increase P uptake, growth and shallot production. The research was conducted from June to August 2023 at the Berastagi Agricultural Technology Research and Assessment Installation, Dolat Rayat District, Karo, North Sumatra, with an altitude of ± 1,340 m above sea level, Andisol soil type. The design used in this research was a Factorial Group Randomized Block Design with three replications. The treatment studied is the first factor of the type of manure (without applying manure, applying cow manure, applying chicken manure, applying goat manure) and the second factor is mycorrhiza dose (0 (control), 5 g / plant, 10 g / plant). The results showed that the application of the type of manure had a significant effect on the observation variables, specifically plant height, plant weight per clump, plant weight per plot, tuber weight per clump, plant weight per plot, wrap tubers, plant dry weight and tuber dry weight. The chicken manure got the best results, but differs not significantly in the application of cow and goat manure, but made a significant difference when it was without manure. Mycorrhiza can markedly increase plant height, plant weight per clump, plant weight per plot, tuber weight per clump, tuber weight per plot, tuber wrap, plant dry weight per clump, tuber dry weight per clump and plant P uptake when compared to no mycorrhiza application.
