Revitalisasi Pengelolaan Stadion Teladan dalam Meningkatkan Prestasi Atlet (Studi Kasus Dinas Pemuda dan Olahraga Kota Medan)

Abstract

Revitalization is an effort aimed at improving or reviving an area that was once vibrant but has experienced decline and deterioration in quality. The lack of proper management of facilities and infrastructure, which have deteriorated in quality, resulting in damage that does not meet the standards of the area, creates a problem that needs to be addressed. Therefore, the revitalization of the management of the exemplary stadium in Medan City is necessary. This study aims to examine the revitalization of stadium management in improving the performance of athletes in Medan City. The method used is a descriptive qualitative research method with data collection techniques including interviews, observations, and documentation. The theory used is George R. Terry's (2019:17) theory, with indicators: planning, implementation, and control. The results of the study indicate that the planning dimension has not been fully achieved. This is shown by the fact that the planning is still in progress and communication with the local community around the exemplary stadium area has not been adequately met. The implementation dimension of the revitalization of the exemplary stadium management is still not running well, due to insufficient attention to the needs and conditions of the local environment. The control dimension has not been properly implemented, as the quality does not meet the standards of management at the exemplary stadium. There are still many complaints from visitors to the stadium, where the community members attending the exemplary stadium do not experience the expected quality from the facilities and infrastructure available.
