Dipterocarpus cinereus Slooten is a tree species endemic to Mursala Island that has Critically Endangered (CR) status according to the IUCN Red List. This study aims to analyze the autechology of D. cinereus, including its population structure, distribution patterns, and habitat preferences. The research was conducted using a survey method with a purposive sampling approach on 13 plots with a total area of 0.52 Ha. The parameters measured included population structure, diversity index, morisita index, soil pH, soil moisture, and slope and canopy cover. The results showed that there were 56 individuals of D. cinereus, with the largest diameter reaching 144.1 cm. The morisita index of 1.4 indicates a clustering distribution pattern. The Shannon-Wiener diversity index of 3.70 indicates a high level of diversity, while an equality index of 0.18 indicates an uneven distribution of individuals. The vegetation shows an inverted j-curve regeneration pattern, which reflects the regeneration of the forest that is still well underway. D. cinereus grows optimally in soil with a pH of 6 – 7, soil moisture of 2 – 8%, and canopy cover of 61 – 87%. This species is more commonly found on slopes with slopes with slopes of 0° – 45°, especially in hillside areas and steep slopes. The results of this study provide basic information for conservation and habitat management efforts of D. cinereus to prevent its extinction.en_US
