This study discusses grammatical cohesion in surah Fuṣṣilat. The purpose of this study is to determine the amount and type of grammatical cohesion in surah Fuṣṣilat. The data source in this study is the Al-Qur'an surah Fuṣṣilat and the research data are in the form of sentences containing grammatical cohesion. This study is a library research using descriptive analysis. Data were collected using the reading method. The research data are in the form of verses consisting of 22 verses sourced from the Al-Qur'an surah Fuṣṣilat. Data were analyzed using the distribution method or distributional method. The research results show that grammatical cohesion in Surah Fuṣṣilat consists of 94 items, consisting of: endophoric references totaling 36 items and consisting of (1) 10 anaphoric references, (2) 16 personal cataphoric references, (3) 4 demonstrative cataphoric references and (4) 6 comparative cataphoric references. There is 1 exophoric reference. There are 35 substitutions consisting of (1) 3 nominal substitutions, (2) 18 phrasal substitutions and (3) 14 clause substitutions. There are 2 omissions. There are 20 conjunctions. The results of the second study show that endophoric references consist of (1) anaphoric references found in the words 'nya, you, they and he' (2) personal cataphoric references found in the words 'Allah, the disbelievers of the Quraysh, polytheists, believers and good deeds, people who turn away and the enemies of Allah' (3) demonstrative cataphoric references found in the words 'that is, in four times, in two times and a few days' (4) comparative cataphoric reference is found in the word 'like'. The reference to exophora is in the word 'who'. Substitutions consisting of (1) nominal substitutions found in the words 'Al-Qur'an, every heaven, the punishment of the afterlife' (2) phrasal substitutions such as those found in 'the bringer of glad tidings and warnings, your God is the Almighty God, Allah is more powerful than them' (3) clausal substitutions such as those found in the clause 'remain (in worship) and ask Him for forgiveness'. The pun is found in the word 'to me'. Conjunctions are found in the words 'and, or, then, if, then, but, when, even. The conclusion of this study is that grammatical cohesion can be found in every verse of the Qur'an, especially the surah Fuṣṣilat, because grammatical cohesion plays an important role in creating a clear connection between sentences, verses and
