    Abstract
This research discusses the Loving Mangrove Farmer Group in mangrove forest management in Lima Puluh Pesisir Sub District, Batu Bara Regency, from 2003-2018. This research aims to explain the formation of the Loving Mangrove Farmer Group in 2003, the development of the Loving Mangrove Farmer Group and the contribution of the Loving Mangrove Farmer Group in mangrove forest management in Lima Puluh Pesisir Sub District, Batu Bara Regency in 2003-2018. The research method used is the historical research method, with steps such as heuristics, criticism, interpretation and historiography. Data was collected through observation, interviews and literature studies, by analysing sources, such as books, previous research and documents of the Loving Mangrove Farmer Group. This research describes the development of the Loving Mangrove Farmer Group in 2003-2018. The results showed that mangrove forests in Lima Puluh Pesisir Sub District existed before the formation of the Loving Mangrove Farmer Group in 2003, but were severely damaged. As an effort to rehabilitate mangroves, the local community initiated the formation of the Loving Mangrove Farmer Group through mangrove nursery, planting and maintenance activities. Initially a small group, the group has grown rapidly due to its commitment and hard work in mangrove forest management and has been able to collaborate with the government. The group has contributed economically to the community by creating employment opportunities in nurseries, selling mangrove seeds and fruits, and collecting crabs to fulfil their daily needs.
