    Abstract
A work accident is an unplanned, uncontrolled, and unexpected event that can interfere with a person's work effectiveness. Unsafe action is an action that violates/does not comply with safe work standards so that it has the opportunity to cause work accidents. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between unsafe actions and the incidence of work accidents in welding workshop workers on Jalan Perintis Kemerdekaan, Kebun Lada Village, Binjai Utara District, Binjai City. The research method used in this study was analytic survey research with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were all 52 welding workshop workers with a sample of 11 welding workshops with a total of 52 workers who were taken using a research questionnaire. The results showed that most welding workshop workers were aged 40-57 years as many as 27 people (51,9%), most high school / vocational school education as many as 38 people (73,1%), working hours ≤ 8 hours as many as 40 people (76,9%), and the most working period > 5 years as many as 44 people (84,6%). The results of chi-square testing obtained a p value of 0,287 (p > 0,05) which indicates that there is no relationship between unsafe action and work accidents, as well as age, education, length of work, and length of service with p values of 0,375, 0,086, 0,575, and 0,532 (p > 0,05) which means that there is no significant relationship to work accidents in welding workshops in North Binjai District, Binjai City in 2024. It is recommended that workers carry out safe work practices by always using personal protective equipment (PPE) completely and consistently.
