dc.description.abstractTofu workers are at risk of exposure to heat and have a heavy workload that can trigger heat strain. This study uses a quantitative method with a cross-sectional design that aims to determine whether there is an influence between hot working temperature and workload with the incidence of heat strain in tofu-making workers in Rambutan District. Respondents of this study amounted to 34 workers. Research data were taken by measuring the physiological strain index, heat stress monitor, and workload measured using an oximeter. There was an influence between hot working temperature (P=0.003) and workload (P=0.001) with the incidence of heat strain. The results showed that there were 11 workers (32.4%) who experienced low heat strain, 19 workers (55.9%) experienced moderate heat strain, 2 workers (5.9%) experienced high heat strain and 1 worker (2.9%) experienced very high heat strain. The data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank test with a coefficient value of 1.000 which indicates the degree of influence between variables is in perfect correlation. The research results show the influence of hot working temperatures and workload on the incidence of heat strain in tofu making workers in Rambutan District. It is recommended that workers lift a maximum weight of 40 kg for male workers and 10 kg for female workers and consume ≥ 2.8 liters of water with a period of 1 glass every 20-30 minutes to compensate for lost fluids.
