    Abstract
    Salmonella sp. is a rod-shaped bacteria, gram-negative and is a type of pathogenic bacteria that causes diseases in the digestive tract. Eggs are a type of food ingredient that is widely consumed and is a perishable food ingredient that has potential to be contaminated by Salmonella sp. The purpose of this study is to analyze the content of Salmonella sp. on cracked eggs being bought and sold and find out the description of buyers behavior regarding cracked chicken eggs and Salmonella sp at Pancur Batu Traditinal Market. This type of research is descriptive research. The population of this study is purebred egg buyers at the Pancur Batu Traditional Market. The number of samples in this study is 100 buyers taken by the Accidental Sampling method while the object of this study is 10 samples of cracked breed chicken eggs taken from different egg traders in Pancur Batu Market. The data collection method was carried out by interviews, observations, and laboratory tests with SSA media. Data analysis was carried out by univariate analysis. The results showed tht 7 out of 10 samples of cracked purebred chicken eggs at Pancur Batu Market were positive for Salmonella. Buyers of purebred chicken eggs at Pancur Batu Market who have good knowledge are 47people (47%), good attitude as many as 75 people (75%), and good practices as many as 59 people (59%). There are still many egg buyers who are unaware of efforrts to reduce the risk of being contaminated with Salmonella. It is hoped that the relevant agencies will supervise the safety oof food sold about Salmonella in cracked chicken eggs and increase information in choosing foodstuffs for health purposes.
