D Sidikalang currently has a hazardous waste temporary storage facility (TPS), but it does not yet meet the applicable regulatory standards. This research aims to analyze the generation of solid medical hazardous waste (B3), evaluate the existing TPS, and redesign the facility to comply with the provisions of the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry No. 56 of 2015, No. 6 of 2021, and the Decree of the Head of the Environmental Impact Management Agency No. 1 of 1995. The research began with field observations and an evaluation of the existing TPS conditions, followed by data collection on the sources, characteristics, and generation rate of solid medical B3 waste. The next step involved planning and designing a new TPS. The study found that the waste generated by the hospital consists of infectious waste, sharps, and contaminated packaging, with a generation rate of 0.108 kg/person/day. Based on the findings, the required TPS area is 45 m² for a 30-day storage period and 63 m² for a 90-day period. The storage needs include three 1100-liter containers for 30-day storage and six for 90-day storage; spill containment capacity of 3,630 liters for 30 days and 7,260 liters for 90 days; ventilation area of 18.4 m² for 30 days and 22.3 m² for 90 days; six 20W LED lights for 30 days and eight for 90 days. Each TPS also requires one smoke detector, one 12 kg dry chemical powder fire extinguisher, spill response equipment, a first aid kit, and a shower kit integrated with an eyewash station.en_US
