Abstract

Background : A hospital is a health service institution that provides comprehensive individual health services that provide inpatient, outpatient, and emergency services. One of the requirements for establishing a hospital is that it must have pharmacy facilities. Pharmacy facilities can guarantee the availability of quality, beneficial, safe, and affordable pharmaceutical preparations and medical devices. Objectives : To understand the duties and roles of pharmacists regarding the Regulation of the Minister of Health Number 72 of 2016 concerning Pharmaceutical Service Standards in Hospitals. To provide prospective pharmacists with insight, knowledge, skills, and practical experience to carry out pharmaceutical work in hospitals. Methods : The Pharmacist Professional Work Practice was carried out from March 13, 2024 to May 15, 2024. Results : Prospective pharmacists gain insight, knowledge, skills, and practical understanding to carry out pharmaceutical work at the dr. Zainoel Abidin Regional General Hospital. Prospective pharmacists get a real picture of the problems of pharmaceutical work in hospitals. Conclusion : There is an increase in understanding of prospective pharmacists about the duties and roles of pharmacists in hospitals in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Health Number 72 of 2016 concerning Pharmaceutical Service Standards in Hospitals.
