dc.description.abstract | Background: Pharmacist Professional Work Practice (PKPA) at Puskesmas is one of
the professional work practices in the pharmacist professional education program. This
PKPA is carried out in an effort to provide provision, skills and expertise to prospective
pharmacists by directly observing drug management and service delivery, especially
pharmaceutical services. It is intended that prospective pharmacists are able to understand
the problems of pharmaceutical work at the Puskesmas in a professional manner in
accordance with applicable laws and regulations and professional principles. PKP activities
at the Bromo Health Center include understanding the functions and duties of the
Puskesmas in providing health services to the community, knowing the role of pharmacists
in managing pharmaceutical preparations and Consumable Medical Materials (BMHP)
starting from planning needs, requests, receipt, storage, distribution, control, recording,
reporting and archiving as well as monitoring and evaluating management. Learning how
to perform patient-oriented clinical pharmacy services, conducting prescription reviews, drug
delivery, providing information and drug education to patients.
Objectives: It is expected that PKPA at the health center can increase the knowledge
of prospective pharmacists in the implementation of pharmaceutical activities both in the
clinical field and pharmaceutical provision. The implementation of PKPA at the health
center is carried out in order to provide an overview of the responsibilities and problems
along with taking solutions found at the health center.
Methods: PKPA at the Puskesmas was completed on October 02, 2023 to October 28,
2023 at UPT Puskesmas Bromo. The activity was carried out in Medan City which is
located at Jalan Rotary No.5, Medan Denai District, Medan City, North Sumatra. Where
carried out on Monday-Friday at 08.00-15.00 WIB.
Results: Pharmaceutical Services at UPT Puskesmas Bromo of the Medan City Health
Office provide knowledge about pharmaceutical practices at puskesmas including the
management of pharmaceutical preparations and consumable medical materials (BMHP)
consisting of planning needs, requests, receiving, storing, distributing, controlling, recording
and reporting as well as monitoring and evaluation; and clinical pharmacy services consisting
of prescription assessment and services, drug information services (PIO), counseling,
monitoring drug side effects (MESO), monitoring drug therapy (PTO) and evaluating drug
use.
Conclusion: There are structures and procedures that run well at UPT Puskesmas Bromo, so
prospective pharmacists can get good pharmaceutical knowledge at PKPA at the Puskesmas. | en_US |
