| dc.description.abstract | Dipterocarpaceae is a large family with a total of 238 species throughout Indonesia, belonging to nine genera, a small number of which grow on the island of Sumatra. Bulu Mario Village is a habitat of Dipterocarpaceae located in the Batang Toru Forest Area, East Block and is one of the seven supporting villages of the Dolok Sibual-Buali Nature Reserve located in Sipirok District, South Tapanuli Regency. The aim of the research is to analyze the structure and composition as well as the regeneration status of tree species in Bulu Mario Village. The research was conducted using a purposive sampling method. The results found 92 plant species with variations in the number of species at each level 46 species at the seedling stage, 68 species at the sapling stage, 57 species at the pole stage, and 72 species at the tree stage. Syzygium lineatum, which is a member of the Myrtaceae family, is the dominant species at almost every growth stage. The tree biodiversity index in the natural forest of Bulu Mario Village is categorized as high (3.58) with the stand structure formed showing a general pattern with an inverted J shape (L shape). The regeneration status of the species found showed that 21 species (45.84%) were in the good category, 25 species (18.22%) were in the new regenerated category, 27 species (1.33%) were in the poor category, 10 species (34.60%) were in the fair category and 9 species (0.01%) were in the not regenerated category. Populations of Dipterocarpaceae are found at an altitude of 770 – 894 m.asl. At the seedling, sapling and tree stage, associations of Dipterocarpaceae with others were found. The associated types of Dipterocarpaceae are Dipterocarpus retusus Blume, Shorea sp., and Shorea platyclados Slooten ex Endert. | en_US |
